with thick glass...
im sorry, but i dont think you can build one. you should go buy one @ Petco for $100 for a stand & tank
check the internet for details but most home improvement dtores will carry the glass or lexan (acrylick) for it. but whats important is the silicone you use to glue it together. you will have to have several strap clamps. look up on the internet im sure you can find plans......look for aquarium plans
first of all i think u need to learn how to weld. Its best to weld a metal frame then put up a wooded one. I've heard of wooden ones but the seem to fall after awhile. (friend of mine did that) then u get the glass kit. there u go. Good luck!!! Oh u can get kits at the pet stores and guide book to build.
It's extremly difficult to build the actual aquarium, it is best to leave it to the professionals when dealing with acrylic. But if you are willing to adventure to this risky project you should check out this webpage http://www.cich…
For the stand you will need to have some woodshop experience due to acrylic tanks need lots of support beacuse the aquarium will weigh about 1,200 pounds when filled with water. Go to a local shop that sells aquarium stands and take measurments, pictures, and notes from the actual stand to help yourself on your own project.
and GOOD LUCK
